Justine Osborne

It's been a real pleasure working with Justine to show some of her most beautiful paintings and charcoal drawings on our ceramics and greetings cards. Enormous care has been taken to get each piece just right so that the elegant simplicity of her work remains and none of the intensity is lost.  They are frighteningly collectable so be careful...it is almost impossible to stop at one.

Here's a bit of background about Justine Osborne BA....

Justine graduated from Central St Martins, London in 1998.  Working in oils, her bold poses, simple backgrounds and painterly marks make her a popular painter of contemporary dog portraits.  She successfully conveys the spirit and depth of expression that is unique to each dog, creating eye-catching, clean, contemporary images.  Justine has painted many subjects over the years, but it the dog's exuberance and lust for life that inspires her to paint them over and over again.

"I enjoy the colours of dogs, their shape, their intensity of expression. Cross-breed or pure bred, every dog has its own challenges. Working with the owners allows for an insight into each dog's personality and the great effect they have on our lives. An irreplaceable bond occurs between owner and dog, and I always feel privileged to create images that represent such special relationships."

Justine takes her influences from many different artists, her favourites including: Stubbs, Lucian Freud, David Hockney, Jenny Saville and Morandi.  More of her work inlcuding originals and prints for sale can be seen by following this link.
